Although my background has been in IT management, fairly recent changes in lifestyle allowed me to pursue a change of career and gain qualifications in an industry that has always held my interest.
Sport has always been a large part of my life, mainly football (during earlier years) but also anything from Rugby to squash and sailing/windsurfing. Always keen for a challenge, I enjoyed the competitive nature of participating, while also being encouraged to pass on advice to help other people’s individual performance. In hindsight, I should have considered some form of coaching as a secondary profession. More recently my contribution in IT was to mentor younger staff and assist with their own development. On a personal note, I have experience dealing with people from all backgrounds and abilities, both in the UK and Europe. Being able to manage expectations with honesty and integrity, also recognising that people need to enjoy what they do to fulfil their potential. Humour is a useful ingredient, along with motivation and a “can do” philosophy.
All my qualifications are recognised through CYQ (part of the YMCA) and include Advanced Fitness Instructor Level 2 & 3(Aerobic, Resistance, Core Stability) Nutrition, First Aid, Group Indoor Cycling (Spinning), Circuit Training and Aqua Fitness (Speedo). In addition, through my IT background, I am a certified IT Professional (MBCS) and possess a Management Studies accreditation.
My current range of clients covers all ages from 10 to 70 with different requirements and aspirations, ranging from wanting to gain improvement in stamina to weight loss. Every person has a constant review of progress measured through SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time Based), ensuring the programmes are on track and well managed.
Thank you for viewing my website and what I can offer to help you, “where ever you want to go”.
